TRAVIS'S STORY

GULP, GULP, GULP goes the monster energy goes down my throat ( I'm Travis Pastrana by the way ). Oh no I need to get ready for motor  show. “Wheres my  crew I say” as I do a check.

Oil for motor- check
gopro- check
shoes- check w
goggles-check
overalls safe-check
Helmet safe-check
Suddenly  I get seven meters from the ramp, and I was thinking am I going to make it to tomorrow or am I going to have fatal injury. As the sweat came dripping down my face from my eyebrows I could hear every cheering for me. I get closer and closer and I could see a dim light.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW” I yell I'm going down the ramp as fast a cheater or should  I say as fast as a jet.  The first  bit of the track is a straight so I can pick up my speed for the sharp corners so I can do great drifts so i can get more points so I can win.

Suddenly I get to the sharpest corner but I didn’t know if I will make it but I remembered that  all the fans are here to watch me win and then I see a shortcut a great short cut to get me into first place I get close and I realized it was a awesome jump and next thing you know I was in the air and I was doing a backflip and  the crowd went nuts and guess what  there was only a straight left of the course and I was in 1st place 6km to go and I could feel the adrenaline rush and then it hit me I was zooming past the finish line and the fans yelled

TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS TRAVIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

house comp

HOUSE COMP!

The other day year 5 and 6 had a house competition. Mr Moriarty had to pick four leaders, Jacob was already a young leader so he only had to pick three more leaders. He picked Braeden, me and another boy, but I don't know his name. We got into 4 groups and I was group 3 so I had to write on all of their hands the number 3. Then we all could go to morning tea.

When we got back from morning tea we had to meet at the courts and we saw a whole field full of exciting looking activities.  My group started at the three legged race. Some of the little kids were quite nervous so I went over to them and explained what to do and that made them feel a lot better. GO! Mr moriarty said, so me and Tyrone ran off 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 then we went to throw the ball at the cricket wicket yes we both got it we ran back 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 we made it back and I high fived Tyrone. Then another 2 kids went, when it got to the end there was one kid who did not do it because there were not enough kids so I went with him. HOONNNNK! The buzzer went and it was time to move on.

Next we went to the jats throw which is where you have to throw a big jat into a bucket.I went first and I didn’t make it but the next time I got it and I yelled Yes! but I didn’t want to be lemon so I decided to be a kumara ( it means its a sweet a potato which is to be nice and not to brag about everything)  so I said keep going team you are doing really well. HOOOONNNNNNNK there goes the buzzer again we need to move along.

Next was the baton race what you had to to is, one of you would start at the back with the baton and pass the baton to the front and you keep bassing it to the front. but the time cepet coming down so we only got about 3 because you had to start at a cone and finish at a cone and if you make it you run back.We kept  going crickard because we went that good HOOOONNNNK! there goes the buzzer again.

The next activity was a ball throw what you had to do was you run to a hoop and if you dont make it to a hoop because there wasn't enough so you get to throw the ball to the first person and so on and so on but if you drop it you have to you restart. We only got about 3 because the young ones couldn’t catch the ball so I said to them keep going you can do it so they caught them HOOOONNNNK there goes the buzzer for the final time I went to the little kids and said well done I am impressed you guys.we went to sit down and then the bell went so we could all go home it was a fun day I wish I could do it again.

One day, when my friend Jack  was sailing happily on his optimist yacht at pandora pond,l he hit an iceberg. “Oh No!” he said.  The starboard side has a huge hole in it and the boats sinking.  It was such a catastrophe. “HELP!” he screamed.  The lifeguard heard him and came zooming along  in his speedboat and saved him just in time.  Unfortunately, his boat sunk and he does not have a boat any more.  While he was on the speedboat the lifeguard was going too fast . Jack wasn't holding on and fell out.  The lifeguard said, “ Sorry.“   It was another catastrophe.  They made it out of the pond without another catastrophe.  He was cold tired and wanted to go home so he did.

Being midfielder in soccer               Questions

When you play soccer do you feel nerves or do you feel confident
-JJ

Are you always hogging the ball? -Cam
When you play soccer do you always have a plan of what you want to do or do always have something you want to achieve during the game. -Brooklyn

Why did you choose soccer to write about and not miniball or hockey? Mrs Roil

soccer is a game that you use with your feet not with your hands not like rugby. I think soccer is a lot more fun because its harder to score goals that's what soccer is.

The  whistle blew and I was off! No time for nerves. I ran back to my position which was defender.  I'm normally a defender or midfielder. I had a run with the ball and I SCORED!  Everybody cheered.

Well back to business. Hereworth kicked off Josh and Luca and Miya all run at one guy Josh was the first to get to him he tackled the guy and passed the ball to me. I ran and before I got tackled I passed back to Josh, “Yes” I say. “I’m not a ball hog”.

Josh was still running he got close to the goal and he passed the ball back to me and I scored again “Yes!” I say. The halftime whistle blew. “Well done Rangers lets do that in the second half” I say. I then went into the midfield. We kicked off. Maddy passed to me, she is the other midfielder. I ran up and the two defenders come up to the line. I passed to Jack who was the striker and then passed it back to me and I dribbled around the goalie to score again.

Herewoth kicked off and then dribbled it straight into me. I tackled him and had a run then pasted the ball to Maddy and she scored “Wow”. I say,  “What a great goal!” They kicked off and before I could tackle again full time whistle blew. “YES” I say.  We won the match and the score was 4 nil.

I went home very proud of myself. I choose soccer to right about  because I think it is a lot  more fun and skilled.  Thats way I choose soccer to write about and way I like soccer.

WHY MRS ROIL SHOULD GO TO ALASKA.

Miss Roil you should go to Alaska because they've got lots of cool things to do there, here are some of the the reasons.  All the volcano watching ,polar bears, snow and ice and the Eskimo people..

You should go because of all of the volcano watching. All of the lava coming out.  Splash, splash smoke everywhere, that would be awesome to watch. There are more than 70 volcanos there so you could at least see two or more. The volcanos are dormant and could come to life at any stage. You could also hire a Helicopter and see all of the even though it will go really slow.

Another reason is you would get to see heaps of polar bears over there, they've got longer necks, black skin under their fur, small head, small round ears and large feet you could also swim with the polar bears if you had a really warm togs or swimsuit to keep you warm.  You have to go at certain times of the year to see the polar bear. The bears are an endangered species and you are not allowed to hunt them. Polar bears eat meat and mostly seals.  Male bears can weigh up to 680 kgs with females weighing about half that.

Another reason why you should go to Alaska is because of all the snow and Ice you would see. It would be as white as cloud and you could make snow man or women. All the snowflakes you would see that would be cool. All the snow and ice in Alaska makes it really cold. For it to snow over there the tops of the clouds have to be at least 0 degrees freezing snow can come from any cloud that is layered.

The Eskimos are the most widely dispersed group in the world still leading a party aboriginal way of life. Eskimos lived near the Bering Strait, the Alaskan Eskimos numbered about 25,000, and the Central Eskimos (who inhabited what is now northern Canada) numbered about 10,000. The Labrador Eskimos totaled about 3,000, while the Greenland Eskimos totaled about 10,000.

These are the reasons I think you should go to Alaska Mrs Roil. It would be so much fun to see volcanoes and Polar Bears on the ice. The Eskimos might even ask you to have dinner with them in there Igloo. I wonder what the will cook for you, maybe some fish that they caught.

Wolverines live in Alaska,Asia and Europe. They live up to about 7-12 years. Their dens ,  where they live, underground, den rocks, trees or in hollow logs.  wolverines average height is 66  to  86 cm tall. Males weigh from 12 to 18 kgs.  Females weigh up to about 11 to 18 kgs. Males grow up to about 16 inches and females grow to about the same.

Wolverines are also called a devil bear because  Wolverines look like small bears and they are very vicious. They are a part of the weasel family. Most Wolverines breed in the summertime. It travels 15 miles ( 24 k ) in a single day just to catch food. Wolverines eat deer, beavers, elk and squirrels.  Wolverines eat a bit of vegetarian food like roots, seeds and berries but they mainly have a diet of meat.

The wolverine  does not hunt in packs because they want all the food to themself so they can get full and not hungry so they don't have to travel all the time .

The wolverine has small round ears their back feet are webbed and  their front feet have very  strong claws. They look for a home. They are mammals which means its  not born out of an egg.
